Happy 2nd Anniversary!!

Jess and I were married two years ago in the Seattle, Washington Temple. It is hard to believe that we have already been married for that long! When we got married, I had just graduated from BYU in Nursing and was stressing about taking my boards, getting a job, and trying to live in the "real world". Jess was facing 2 1/2 years of Engineering at BYU, and it seemed like we would never been done with school!

Now, Jess has only 4 months (and counting!) until his undergraduate work is finished, and then it is most likely grad school after that. I am proud of Jess and how much he has accomplished in these two years. I have worked for almost two years as a Labor and Delivery nurse at UVRMC in Provo, and am starting to teach part-time at BYU in the Nursing Program as well. We've gone through heartache and side-splitting laughter, frustrations and pure bliss, and love each other more than ever.

Yay for Christmas!!

Jess and I went to see Savior of the World on Friday night, which we loved. Neither of us had seen it before, and although it is a little early in the season, I am so excited for Christmas!

Halloween

Can I just make one thing very clear- I love Jess with all my heart. However, I tend to be a little more outgoing than him, and Halloween and/or dressing up would be one of those instances. We had a Halloween party/Chili cook-off to attend, and I started asking Jess about what he wanted to dress up as. "Dress up?" he asked me, as if it were the most absurd thought I had ever come up with (and believe me, I have some pretty absured ideas!). "I am not dressing up." he proclaimed. Thus began my quest of costumes that I could convince Jess to dress up in. Finally, he agreed to be a "patient" if I grabbed a gown from work. So, I wore my work clothes and Jess stuck a band-aid on his forehead, and voila! Insta-costume. Most people asked me if I had come straight from work, then they saw Jess wearing a gown and figured it out. At least he was burned from the football game that day-usually he really is my patient and I have to go retrieve him from some biking accident or care for turf burns covering 25% of his extremities. As much as I love laboring women, Jess will always be my favorite patient!!

Jess's birthday

Should be going to bed, instead I'm blogging. We celebrated Jess's 25th birthday last week. Unfortunately, it was on a Wednesday, and that weekend was busy. Sorry, babe. However, we did go try a new Thai restaurant that Friday night (Halloween). We went with our good friends, Jeff and Aubrey Amelang. We got to try lots of yummy food and sit in the fun little booths. The floor is raised in the booths so that you sit on a cushion and the table is lap-level, but you can slip your feet underneath the table. All the comfort of American dining with the appearance of Asian authenticity! We voted the Massaman curry the winning dish.

Playing with the boys

This past weekend, my brother Dan, his wife Tiff, and their two little boys came down to hang out in Provo. Their two boys Michael and Oliver are just 14 months apart, and so much fun! Jess and I love playing with the boys. It's always fun to get together with family, but let's be honest- the little ones are the best! Every time I would go to play the piano, Michael would come running from wherever he had been playing, climb on the bench with me, and insist that I play Primary songs, then play along with me. We did a lot of "Popcorn popping" and "The Wise Man and the Foolish Man". Oliver is almost walking, and is crawling all over the place. His specialty Sunday night was diving head-first off the couch. Oh, and during conference, whenever someone came up to the pulpit Michael would exclaim, "President Monson!" It was super cute the first couple times when it actually was President Monson, and then we just giggled when he continued to say it no matter who got up to speak. I love those little boys!!
