Our summer so far

Okay, after looking at everyone else's blogs for the last hour or so, I felt like I should at least post a thought. Jess and I have not been up to much lately. Jess is enjoying not having school or work, and I am enjoying him being home. To come home after working 12+ hours and have the kitchen and living room cleaned, dinner on the table (with fresh, beautiful flowers, I might add) and the laundry headed in the same direction, is Heaven on Earth!! He has taken to his stay-at-home husband position quite nicely. That and being Elder's Quorum President is keeping him plenty busy!

Part of the reason he is being so good is because I won't cook anymore. Well, maybe I could now. For those that I haven't told yet- WE'RE EXPECTING!! And boy, have I been sick! I thought last pregnancy when I miscarried at 13 weeks I was sick, but that was cake compared to what I've felt this time around. Zofran is my newest best friend. I'm 14 1/2 weeks now, and not as sick as I have been, but cooking is still far from okay. So Jess knows if he wants to eat, he has to cook. It has worked out pretty well, because I don't mind having to go to work if I can come home and have everything else done for me, which I do right now! Yes, I know I am super spoiled, but I can love it without too much guilt right now.

I am just grateful that Jess has time to figure out all of the stuff with us moving to Indiana this summer/fall and I don't have to worry about it. I love you, honey!!

Jess is a big kid now!

I don't have many good pictures from our nephew Michael's 3rd birthday party, but I love this one. Michael wanted Jess to play with him on the glider. I was pretty certain that Jess would topple the entire swing set and sighed in relief when it didn't. (Maybe Michael does need to go on skim milk, Tiff :) )

Decision Made!

It's been so long since we've put anything up, no one probably looks at our fairly pathetic blog anymore. For those that do, we finally decided. West Lafayette, Indiana, home of the Purdue Boilermakers, will be our home for the next two years. Jess is going to grad school in Mechanical Engineering, and Melissa will find new adventures in nursing out there.

My favorite

Roses are great and all (I should know, having become one myself :) ), but red roses just don't really do it for me. I love stargazer lilies, and my wonderful husband knows it. So, not only did he slave away at a yummy dinner (he even braved yeast!), he got me my favorite flowers. When I came home from work on Valentine's Day, it was the best evening-in to date! Jess is the best!

Hangin' with the Fam

Oliver trying to eat his plate as well

Megan using tongs to eat her cheerios

We tried valiantly to keep Michael's hand down, but he really wanted that camera!

Michael more interested in Uncle Jess than the camera at this point

After dinner, we went back to my parents, where Michael and Megan played ring around the rosies over and over again. That is Megan singing in the video. Michael just laughed and wanted Megan to sing some more.

Skiing (finally!)

We have been so busy this winter, we just barely hit the slopes for the first time this season. Good powder, not too cold- it was great!
